The Hitachi Zaxis 55U is a 2018 tracked mini excavator with 6,000 working hours, enclosed cab with air conditioning, blade, and new bucket. The U suffix indicates the short tail swing version (zero tail swing): the upper structure remains within the track width, allowing the machine to work near walls, fences, and roadways without the counterweight hitting obstacles.
Engine and performance
It is equipped with a 4-cylinder Yanmar 4TNV88 diesel engine delivering 28.2 kW at 2,400 rpm. According to the Hitachi spec sheet, the operating weight for this series is between 5,040 and 5,370 kg depending on the configuration, with a track width of 2,000 mm and a travel speed of up to 4.2 km/h.
